Welcome to the home of the Pyrenean Sheepdog in the UK

The Pyrenean Sheepdog Club of Great Britain welcome you to their website. This site is designed to give you an insight into not only our rustic little French herders (Long Haired and Smooth Faced Variants)  but also the Club that represents both breeds here in the UK.

Club Open Show

The Club runs a KC licensed Breed Open Show in April of each year and attracts top breed specialist judges from France and senior judges from the UK. All owners of suitably registered PSD's are welcome to enter.

Discover Dogs and Events

We are passionate about promoting and protecting our little French herding breeds and the Club ensures that the Discover Dog's breed stands are fully manned at Crufts in March each year.

Club Fun Day

Each year in the summer the club holds its annual fun day . The day normally kicks off with a PSD walk before returning for a very relaxed picnic lunch. Games and competitive activities follow including, have a go agility, flyball, ringcraft, novelty classes etc. A great day out for all PSD owners (non-members welcome)

Seminars and Judges Education

From 2019 we have established a new Breed Appreciation Day (B.A.D.) with Multiple Choice Exam in line with the KC's new JEP judges education requirements. This day whilst prioritised for judges is open to all those owners and potential owners of the breed looking to expand their breed specific knowledge.

Herding Day

The club is committed to ensure that the  PSD remains 'unspoilt' and retains it's natural working abilities and is fit for function. A herding instinct assessment day is organised annually and the club encourages all breeders to make "herding instinct" an important selection in their breeding programmes

Agility Day

The club holds an agility experience and training day, normally in September each year. This is a great opportunity for beginners trying out for the first time or more experienced PSD competitors looking to hone their skills . An accredited trainer is normally present.

Breed Health

All aspects of breed health are managed through a dedicated breed health coordinator on committee who conducts regular health surveys, maintains health records and advises committee on future health initiatves

Breed Database

The club aims to be a source of information and expertise on all our past and current UK PSD's and is building a 5 generation pedigree breed database as a resource and archive available for Club Members
